It gives me great pleasure to welcome you to the National Church of England Academy. The Academy has been part of the town of Hucknall since 1788, and this heritage, along with our core values and our sense of community, still remains crucial to our success.
Today, the Academy is a vibrant hub of education for students from 11 to 19. We demand excellence and respect from our students, and in turn, we deliver a broad and balanced curriculum to meet the needs of young minds. Allied to our strong values, reputation for progress and achievement, and superb facilities, this creates an inspiring learning environment.
As a faith Academy, we ensure that our core values underpin the work we do and we extend students’ understanding of their place in the world through a rich and diverse curriculum. Students are given the opportunity to reach their full potential through an individualised programme, together with accessing diverse opportunities for personal development through sport, music, drama, extended curriculum and community involvement, to name just a few.
National is the outstanding place for education in Hucknall, and our leadership team are driven to support every student as they develop into young adults. We ensure that the transition process for students coming into the Academy at Year 7 is as smooth as possible through open evenings, transition days, taster lessons, and working alongside families and primary schools.
