ICT and Business Faculty Overview

Welcome to the ICT and Business Faculty at The National Academy. The accommodation includes five fully equipped specialist ICT suites with facilities for printing and scanning. At Key Stage 3 (years 7, 8 and 9) all students experience one lesson a week whereby ICT is taught as a discrete subject. The lessons are carefully designed to provide a variety of challenging and interesting activities, whilst fully utilising the hardware and software resources available. Our scheme of work has been designed to support students in developing their core ICT skills and prepare them for possible further study in ICT and computing. Students are also given the opportunity to apply and develop their ICT capability by the use of ICT as a tool within other subject areas. In KS4 students have the option to take a range of subjects offered by the faculty including ICT, Computing and Business studies. They study these for 3 hours a week.  At Keystage 5 we also deliver photography, economics and film studies as well as those subjects offered at KS4.
