Our charitable project for Lent this year was to support the Engage Food Bank, based at the Under One Roof building on Vine Terrace in Hucknall.
The academy raised a very impressive £1419.69 through the non-uniform day on Thursday 2nd March, and this week students also donated non-perishable goods during their Easter achievement assemblies. The money raised and food donated will be put to use by the charity supporting those less fortunate members of our community including local families.
Martyn Jobling, academy director, said of the donation, “Charity is one of key values that underpin everything we do as an academy. We encourage all students and staff to give generously, forgive endlessly and to see good in others without prejudice or preference. I would like to thank anyone who has supported us, and thank Engage for allowing us to be part of the great work that they do.”
