Exciting plans for our Mission Week

Next week (Monday 4 March – Friday 8 March 2019) will be Mission Week here at the academy, which this year is based around the theme of ‘Fresh Perspectives’.

There will be a number of exciting and illuminating sessions, all geared around encouraging students to think about some big questions about their lives, on issues such as wellbeing, faith and much more besides.

Throughout the week, students will have the opportunity to draw inspiration from some guests of the academy. Father Richard Peers from the Diocese of Liverpool will lead students in Christian mindfulness and stress-management workshops, with Sharon Dirckx (senior tutor at the Oxford Centre for Christian Apologetics) providing an enlightening session on how religion and science interact.

Mr McKibbin and the chaplaincy team will also be on hand throughout the week to support students with seeing things from a different viewpoint during the Fresh Perspectives sessions. We are looking forward to a seeing our students engaging in Mission Week and hope they find it interesting and educational.
