FA Cup final experience for National students

9 May 2019

This week has been an incredible week for football in England – at the beginning of an outstanding run of games, on Saturday a group of National students and staff were fortunate enough to attend Women’s FA Cup Final at Wembley – the pinnacle of the football season for many players.

Contested by Manchester City and West Ham United, the game featured numerous international stars and current legends of the game, including the current England captain Steph Houghton who will lead our country in this year’s World Cup. The game finished in a resounding 3-0 victory for City with goals from England internationals Keira Walsh, Georgia Stanway and youth international Lauren Hemp.

The day was a great experience for our students in an amazing stadium – hopefully this will inspire some of our young footballers to keep aspiring to play on such a stage in the future.
