Governors at National Church of England Academy were successful in securing Governor Mark in May 2016. This nationally recognised standard measures the effectiveness of governors and the work they do.
In the report to the academy, independent assessors congratulated governors on the high quality of governance demonstrated by the governing board. They also praised the best practice shown in:
- The commitment, passion, enthusiasm and engagement of governors which were evident in paperwork and the conversations during the assessment.
- The governing board’s strategic approach to ensuring sufficient teaching capacity in core subject areas.
- The innovative way the governing board had been working with another academy in the DALP partnership to grow and develop 6th Form provision.
The Governor Mark award runs for three years to the end of May 2019
