Stunning start to season for Year 9 footballers

The football season is well and truly upon us again, and our year 9 boys’ team have made an impressive start to their cup campaigns.

In late September, they started the defence of their title in the South Notts Schools’ Cup following an impressive victory last season. Playing against South Notts Academy, a tough fixture brought a lot of goalmouth action, with the National boys eventually running our 4-3 winners.

They followed this match with an impressive first round win in the English Schools’ Football Association (ESFA) Cup last Thursday against Wales High School who had travelled from Sheffield. With a strong National squad who were eager to impress, our team started with a great sense of purpose and netted the first goal within a couple of minutes. From that point on, there was no stopping them as they notched up plenty of goals in a stunning 11-0 victory!

The next fixture sees us at home against Joseph Whitaker Academy from Rainworth in the second round of the Nottinghamshire Schools’ FA, Chaplain Shield. Parents and guardians are welcome to join us to support the lads.

Well done to our team on a great start – we look forward to seeing where the season takes you!
