Talented mathematicians take part in regional competition

On Wednesday this week, we took a team of talented mathematicians to Ashfield School to take part in a regional round of the team maths challenge. The day consisted of four rounds; a group round, crossnumber, shuttle round and relay. The team worked brilliantly and showed a great deal of resilience and team work, finishing a respectable 18th out of the 28 schools and academies competing.

Daniel said ‘The day was fun and educational and something I would definitely be up for doing again’, with Dylan adding, ‘my favourite round was the crossnumber round. It was interesting to do a crossword with numbers, working as a team, with one pair doing the across clues and another doing the down, which added to the challenge.’

Well done to all of the team and thanks to Mrs Shaw for her support on the day.
