Year 8 student Charlotte recognised for her sporting achievements

At the back end of 2018, year 8 student Charlotte was nominated for a Sporting Achievement Award at the Nottingham Post Education Awards, finishing as a runner up to the main prize.

Put forward by our head of PACE Ms Hall, Charlotte was nominated for an award as she has achieved great success in a variety of sports at the academy and beyond, together with being an exceptional student. She represents the academy in hockey, indoor athletics, cross country, outdoor athletics and is also part of the year 9 (age group above her) football team who reached the semi-final of the English Schools Football Cup tournament, scoring numerous goals on the run the final. Charlotte was also a key individual in the academy team who won the Nottinghamshire Futsal and County Cup Schools football.

Outside of the academy, Charlotte also represents Leicester City Football Club and plays cricket for Nottinghamshire Girls under-13 squad during the summer months.

Ms Hall said of Charlotte, ‘She is an extremely dedicated, committed and hardworking individual, she currently trains with Leicester City three times per week, playing games once or twice per week. She is also an extremely bright and intelligent student who is excelling in her school work, working beyond her targets in all subjects! A great role model for other students for her achievements, but most of all being a completely rounded personable individual.’

Well done to Charlotte – keep up the great work.
