Year 9 Ruben races towards more records!

8 July 2019

Another week and another exceptional achievement from a talented National student – this time, it is again the turn of year 9 student Ruben H. Last year we featured Ruben who at that time was achieving great success in Autograss – having risen steadily through the ranks in this exciting competitive motorsport, he finished second in the UK Autograss Junior championships last season.

Ruben has since progressed into Junior Saloon Car racing and in May 2019 became the youngest circuit racer driving saloon cars in the UK at the age of just 14! Driving full race specification Citroen Saxo 1.6 VTRs, this championship has developed multiple juniors into professional senior drivers, with races taking place on world-renowned UK tracks such as Brands Hatch and Silverstone.

In the last few weeks, Ruben has achieved his first top 10 finish and his mentor is delighted with his progress, impressing many people with his mature driving on track and professionalism off track. The sport is highly competitive and to experience a race from Ruben’s point of view, you can see footage of his races (including in-car action) below.

We are very proud of Ruben and look forward to hearing more about his progress over the next few years.
