    • Testing Schedule for Parents and Guardians

      Published 21/07/21

      Dear parents and guardians,

Thank you for your continued engagement in the Covid-19 testing programme. Please continue to encourage your child to test twice weekly and report the results until the end of the summer term.

The asymptomatic testing programme is being paused for students in secondary schools and colleges that will be closed over the summer holidays.

If you or your child wish to access rapid lateral flow testing for use over the summer holidays, you can continue to do so by ordering LFD test kits from GOV.UK or by collecting kits from your local pharmacy.

Testing will restart on return in the autumn. We will offer your child two tests on-site before continuing regular testing at home.

For those parents/guardians who have already consented to their son/daughter taking part in the on-site testing programme in March 2021, you do not need to fill out the consent form again.

If your child was not part of the last on-site testing programme and they now wish to be, then please click here.

We must ask that consent is registered before we return in September.  Therefore, the deadline for completion of the consent form is Thursday 26th August 2021.

Similarly, if you wish to withdraw consent then please contact rkirk@nationalacademy.org.uk before September.

Please note, children under 16 years old require a parent/guardian to consent on their behalf.  Those aged 16 and older may consent themselves, using the form or verbally when attending the testing centre.

After these initial two tests at school, students should continue to test at home twice per week using the LFD tests provided by the academy.

Reporting results is easy. Go to report a COVID-19 lateral flow test result or call 119 free from a mobile or landline. Lines are open every day, 7am to 11pm. Support is offered in 200 languages as well as British Sign Language.

Testing twice weekly is helping us stay ahead of the virus by spotting new outbreaks quickly and plan our response.

      Yours sincerely

      Mr A Hawkins

      Vice Principal
